PROCLAMATION FOR A LIFE OF PURITY


How can I keep my way pure?
By living according to God’s word.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look lustfully at another.

If my eye causes me to sin,
gouge it out and throw it away.

After desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

I flee from sexual immorality and choose life,
so that I and my children may live.

My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in me. I am not my own.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me
and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

In Jesus’ mighty Name I pray. Amen.
