FORGIVENESS


Father I come to you, for I am weary and burdened;
people have hurt me but I learn from You,
for You are gentle and humble in heart.1
I will not allow bitterness to appear in my heart,
but I shall get rid of all disappointment,
rage, anger and negativity.2

For my struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers in the heavenly realms.3

I choose to not take revenge, for it is Yours to avenge and You will repay.4
Therefore I forgive those who curse me and bless them.5

You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love.6
That is why I learn from You and will find rest for my soul.1
