THE FEAR OF THE LORD


Great and marvellous are Your deeds, Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are Your ways, King of the Ages.
Who will not fear You, O Lord,
and bring glory to Your name?
For You alone are holy.1

Fear of You Lord, is the beginning of wisdom.2
That is why I acknowledge You in all my ways,
and do not rely on my own understanding.3
He who fears You Lord has a secure fortress,4
but fear of man will prove to be a snare.5
I trust in You, O Lord, I say “You are my God”.6
You O Lord, confide in those who fear You,7
therefore I fear You Lord and shun evil.8
Fear of You Lord, adds length to life.9
